Honey Gantner Award

The Honey Gantner award is presented annually by New Jersey Golf for dedicated service by a volunteer. It acknowledges a volunteer’s commitment, outstanding service, and contributions to organization. Nominations may be made by current NJ Golf committee members on behalf of any NJ Golf volunteer, including the Board of Trustees, Advisory Committee, Tournament Committee, Course Rating Committee, Women’s Committee, Caddie Scholarship Board of Trustees and Caddie Scholarship Committee. The recipient is honored at the Annual Meeting.

Nomination Criteria:

  • Candidate must be a volunteer (past or present) from one (or more) of the above NJ Golf Committees.
  • He/she must have demonstrated exemplary service on behalf of NJ Golf for a period of time.
  • This is strictly a NJSGA service nomination; outside achievements should not be considered.

Nomination Process:

  • Nominations would be submitted by current members of each NJ Golf Committee and collected by the NJ Golf staff.
  • NJ Golf staff would submit a list of all nominees to the NJ Golf Executive Committee who would narrow the selections to three finalists.
  • These three finalists would be presented back to each NJ Golf committee who would have an opportunity to comment on or endorse their choice of volunteer of the year.
  • Initial nominees would be solicited by NJ Golf in May, reported to the Officers in June, and finalists presented back to the Committees in July. The honoree would be announced in August and honored at the Annual Meeting in October.
