PREVIEW: 42nd Mid-Amateur Championship at Morris County Golf Club

MORRISTOWN, N.J. - The spotlight returns to one of New Jersey’s premier individual championships as the 42nd New Jersey Mid-Amateur Championship tees off from June 3–5 at the prestigious Morris County Golf Club. A cornerstone of the Garden State’s competitive golf calendar, the Mid-Am offers seasoned amateur players a chance to showcase their talent, grit, and course management in one of the state’s most respected events.
This year’s championship promises intense competition, with a field of top-tier mid-amateurs vying for the coveted title. Past champions, rising contenders, and first-time qualifiers will converge with a shared goal: navigating three demanding days of golf and etching their name into New Jersey golf history.
Founded in 1894, Morris County is a Seth Raynor - designed course that features 150 acres of tree-lined fairways and undulating terrain.
Following a recent restoration project completed this fall, Morris County claims the No. 20 spot on Golf Digest’s Best in State, serving as a fitting venue for this prestigious event.
With its rolling terrain, tree-lined fairways, and subtly contoured greens, Morris County challenges players to think strategically, control their ball flight, and stay mentally sharp from the first tee to the final putt.
Steeped in over a century of golfing excellence, Morris County combines classic design with modern conditioning to offer a championship experience worthy of New Jersey’s best.
As the 42nd edition unfolds, expect drama, resilience, and moments of brilliance—hallmarks of Mid-Amateur golf. Let the chase for the title begin.
