105th W.Y. Dear Junior & 56th Boys Championships

ELIGIBILITY: 
Entries are open to amateur golfers who meet ALL of the following:

• Entrant must be age 18 or younger and not attending college, for the duration of the championship.
• Entrant meet ALL of these Handicap and Membership Requirements:
  • Hold a USGA Handicap Index of 10.0 or less, as of the close of entries, at a member club/course. They must be listed on this club’s Handicap Roster.
  • Maintain good standing and remain on the above Handicap Roster through the Championship proper.
• If entering from a public facility, or Club Without Real Estate, entrant must be a permanent resident of New Jersey. Proof of residency may be required.

CHAMPIONSHIP FORMAT: 
An eighteen (18) hole, stroke play qualifying round will be held on day 1. The low 16 scorers will advance to two days (four rounds) of Match Play (two rounds of match play will be contested each day). All matches are 18 holes. The total field will be limited to the first 84 players whose entries are received by NJ Golf prior to the close of entries. If the event is oversubscribed, players will be entered into the championship based on their Handicap Index at the close of entries. Players that do not get in will be placed on a waitlist and spots will be filled in the case of withdrawals. The Boys Championship (ages 15 and under) will be the 18 hole qualifier for the Match Play. 

*The Junior Champion will be exempt into the 2026 U.S. Junior Amateur Championship at Saucon Valley Country Club

Transportation: Motorized transportation is PROHIBITED throughout this Championship. 
Caddies: Prohibited in this competition.
Pull/Push Carts: Refer to specific Notice to Players for host club’s policy.

PRIZES: 
The Homer Lichtenwalter Championship Trophy will be presented to the Junior Champion, engraved with their name, and displayed at their home club. Prizes awarded to the stroke play medalist, runner-up, and semifinalists.

FINAL DECISION REGARDING ACCEPTANCE OF ENTRIES IS AT THE DISCRETION OF NJ GOLF. THE COMMITTEE RESERVES THE RIGHT TO REJECT OR WITHDRAW AN ENTRY AT ANY TIME, BEFORE OR DURING A COMPETITION OR MODIFY THE CHAMPIONSHIP PROGRAM ANYTIME, IN ITS DISCRETION. IF NJ GOLF DETERMINES, IN ITS REASONABLE DISCRETION, THAT AN ENTRANT DOES NOT MEET THE ELIGIBILTY REQUIREMENTS, THE ENTRANT MAY BE DISQUALIFIED, EITHER BEFORE OR AFTER A CHAMPIONSHIP HAS BEEN PLAYED.
