NJ Golf Unveils 2026 Championship Lineup

KENILWORTH, N.J. - New Jersey Golf announced its 2026 championship schedule, featuring 25 events highlighted by the state’s six major championships at some of New Jersey’s most notable venues. Headlining the competitive season is the milestone 125th New Jersey Amateur Championship, which will be contested at Baltusrol Golf Club.

"The 2026 schedule showcases the very best of championship golf in New Jersey,” said Brad Bardon, Director of Championships. “With the 125th New Jersey Amateur at Baltusrol and our six major championships visiting some of the state’s most iconic venues, this season reflects both the deep history of the game in our state and the high level of competition our players continue to bring every year. Our host clubs once again provide a championship-caliber stage, and we’re confident these venues will challenge players while delivering memorable experiences for competitors and fans alike. It’s a schedule that honors tradition while continuing to elevate the standard of NJ Golf championships."

The 2026 major championship season will begin May 5–7 at Little Mill Country Club with the 94th Four-Ball Championship. Known for its rolling terrain and strategic design, Little Mill will provide a demanding and balanced test for two-player teams as they open the championship calendar.

The 43rd Mid-Amateur Championship will be held June 2–4 at Alpine Country Club. Situated along the Palisades, Alpine’s narrow fairways, elevation changes and classic A.W. Tillinghast layout will challenge competitors age 25 and older as they navigate one of the state’s most scenic and exacting courses.

From July 6–8, NJ Golf’s most historic championship, the 125th New Jersey Amateur Championship presented by Provident Bank, will be contested at Baltusrol Golf Club on its renowned Upper and Lower Courses. One of the most historic venues in American golf, Baltusrol will host the state’s premier amateur championship as players compete to be considered among many of New Jersey’s greatest champions. Both the Upper and Lower Courses are ranked among the top-5 golf courses in New Jersey in Golf Digest’s 2025–26 “Best in State” rankings, with the Lower Course at No. 2 and the Upper Course at No. 4. The winner will earn an exemption into the 126th U.S. Amateur Championship at Merion Golf Club.

The 101st New Jersey Women’s Amateur Championship will be held July 13–15 at Essex Fells Country Club. A classic Seth Raynor design, Essex Fells features narrow fairways, strategic bunkering and demanding green complexes, providing a fitting test for the Garden State's top amateurs. The winner will earn an exemption into the 126th U.S. Women’s Amateur Championship.

The 106th New Jersey Open Championship, presented by Donnelly Industries, will take place July 21–23 at Morris County Golf Club. Ranked among the top-20 courses in New Jersey by Golf Digest, Morris County is known for its challenging bunkering, sloping greens, and classic layout which will present a true test for the state’s top professionals and elite amateurs. Co-designed by legendary architects Charles Blair Macdonald and Seth Raynor, Morris County is coming off hosting the 42nd New Jersey Mid-Amateur in 2025.

The 2026 major championship season will conclude August 4–5 with the 4th New Jersey Women’s Open Championship at Canoe Brook Country Club. A historic New Jersey venue, Canoe Brook will provide a championship-caliber setting as the area’s top professionals and elite amateurs compete for one of the fastest-growing titles on the New Jersey Golf calendar.

Across the six major championships, players will compete not only for state titles, but also for coveted exemptions into USGA national championships. Beginning in 2024, the United States Golf Association (USGA) implemented changes to qualifying for the U.S. Amateur, U.S. Women’s Amateur, U.S. Junior Amateur and U.S. Girls’ Junior Championships. For the second consecutive season, New Jersey has earned exemptions into all four championships based on the state’s three-year rolling average in the World Amateur Golf Ranking® (WAGR) power ranking system, which is evaluated each fall for the following year.
