Cronheim, age 40 and a resident of Bernardsville, is part of a deeply rooted golf family. He is the grandson of Robert D. Cronheim who served as NJ Golf President from 1992-1993, and part of the Cronheim family which has owned and operated the Watchung Valley Golf Club since 1943, spanning four generations. He succeeds Rod McRae, III of Baltusrol Golf Club who completed a highly successful two-year term as President.

McRae’s two years of dedicated service was highlighted by record event participation and individual memberships to the organization. His tenure included a complete re-branding in the winter of 2025, and the inaugural AGA (Allied Golf Associations) Presidents Council which drew 46 executive leaders to Baltusrol in August from throughout the United States – including Puerto Rico and Alaska – plus Mexico.

The Annual Meeting also included the election of NJ Golf’s four officers, each to two-year terms, including Cronheim (President), Matt Wirths of Baltusrol (Vice-President), Joseph Schurtz of Plainfield Country Club (Secretary) and Eric Lundberg of Canoe Brook Country Club (Treasurer).

Additionally, the Board of Trustees Class of 2028 was elected, including Don Davidson of Heron Glen G.C., Lisa Lifer of Panther Valley C.C., Alyson Ramsey Johnson of NJ Golf E-Club, William Frese of Essex Fells C.C., Daniel Meehan of Spring Brook C.C., and Michael Pelliccione of Somerset Hills C.C. In December, Tim Christ of the Essex County Parks Commission and Christina Parsells of Somerset Hills Country Club will also join the Board.

Earlier in the day and prior to the Annual Meeting, Morris County hosted a Four-Ball competition which was attended by teams representing nearly 50 NJ Golf Member Clubs. The event was won by the Crestmont Country Club tandem of Jeffrey Feinberg and Jeff Kollin, who teamed to shoot a six-under par 64 to win on a match of cards over the Manasquan River Golf Club team of Matt Flanigan and Mike McFadden.
