New Jersey Score Posting Season Ends November 14: What You Need to Know

KENILWORTH, N.J. –– The active score posting season in New Jersey concludes on Saturday, November 14, 2026. Beginning November 15, scores from rounds played in New Jersey will no longer be acceptable for handicap purposes until the active season resumes on April 1, 2027.

Here are a few important reminders as the score posting season comes to a close.

When is New Jersey's active score posting season?

New Jersey's active score posting season runs annually from April 1 through November 14.

During this period, golfers are required to post all acceptable scores to maintain an accurate Handicap Index. Scores should be posted as soon as possible on the day of play.

Can I post scores from rounds played in New Jersey after November 14?

No. Scores from rounds played in New Jersey between November 15 and March 31 are not acceptable for handicap purposes, even if courses remain open for play.

Golfers can continue playing throughout the offseason, but those rounds will not count toward their Handicap Index.

What if I play golf outside of New Jersey during the offseason?

Golfers who travel to areas with an active score posting season are still required to post acceptable scores.

For example, states such as Florida have year-round active posting seasons. If you play an acceptable round in an active region, that score must be posted, regardless of where your home club is located.

Golfers can check the active and inactive posting seasons for each region using the USGA's Active and Inactive Season Schedule.

Will my Handicap Index continue to update during the offseason?

Yes. Handicap Indexes continue to update daily throughout the year.

While scores from rounds played in New Jersey during the inactive season cannot be posted, acceptable scores from rounds played in active regions will continue to be included in Handicap Index calculations.

Can I post scores from indoor golf simulators?

No. Scores from rounds played on golf simulators are not currently acceptable for handicap purposes under the World Handicap System.

What should I do before the season ends?

Golfers are encouraged to review their scoring records and ensure all acceptable scores from the active season have been posted.

Scores can be submitted through the GHIN App or GHIN.com.
