New Jersey Golf’s “Wednesday Roundup” will run weekly through the 2026 golf season. This weekly news summary will feature local stories and news from throughout the Garden State. Competitive Golf

• Nick Bova of Hamilton Farm Golf Club won the NJPGA Fall Finale on Tuesday, September 29 at Crestmont Country Club. (Learn More)

• Danny Harcourt earned NJPGA Player of the Year honors for the second straight season, while Brent Paladino finished runner-up. Both also qualified for the 2027 PGA Professional Championship at Streamsong Resort. (Learn More)

• Chris Gotterup helped the United States capture the 2026 Presidents Cup at Medinah Country Club. The Little Silver native capped his Presidents Cup debut with a 1-up victory over Christiaan Bezuidenhout in Sunday singles as the U.S. rallied from a three-point deficit to defeat the International Team, 17-13. • Mike Guli won the Senior Arcola Cup on September 23, shooting a 4-over 76. (Learn More)

• Adrienne MacLean advanced to the Round of 32 at the 64th U.S. Senior Women’s Amateur Championship at Portland Golf Club. MacLean reached match play and advanced through the opening round before meeting 2017 champion Judith Kyrinis in the Round of 32. (Learn More)

• The John Caliendo Winter is celebrating its 65th season of winter-long competition and is now accepting new members. Professional and amateurs are welcome to join; the season begins on October 29 at Heron Glen Golf Course. College & Junior Golf

• Princeton women’s golf won the rain-shortened Princeton Invitational at Springdale Golf Club, finishing the 36-hole event at 2-over par to top Penn by eight shots. Thanana Kotchasanmanee finished third individually at 1-under, while first-years Ysabel Liu and Elaine Liu tied for fourth at even par. Rutgers finished third as a team. (Learn More)

• Michael Asselta qualified for the 2027 U.S. Amateur Four-Ball Championship after advancing through qualifying in Maryland alongside a college teammate. (Learn More)

Around the Game

• Nine New Jersey instructors were named to Golf Digest’s 2027-28 Best Young Teachers in America list. Jason Barry (Springdale Golf Club), Eric Boskey (Knickerbocker Country Club), TJ Bullock (Ridgewood Country Club), Christoff Els (Montclair Indoor Golf Club), Ryan Hager (Plainfield Country Club), Danny Harcourt (Fiddler’s Elbow Country Club), Kelan McDonagh (Metedeconk National Golf Club), CJ Nafus (Roxiticus Golf Club) and David Taraschi (Burlington Country Club) were among the instructors recognized. • Montclair Indoor Golf Club’s Fall League will run Nov. 1 through Dec. 12 at its Montclair, Millburn and Morristown locations. The six-week competition features five weeks of flexible nine-hole individual stroke play on Trackman courses, with the top four players advancing to a live finale. An active GHIN Handicap is required, and New Jersey Golf members can use promo code NJSGA to receive $50 off the $300 entry fee. Registration is available for Montclair, Millburn and Morristown.

• Youth on Course members will have additional ways to stay connected to the game this fall. The organization’s pilot program with Topgolf has been extended through Oct. 31, giving Youth on Course members and alumni access Monday through Thursday from opening until 5 p.m. Youth on Course has also expanded its partnership with DICK’S Sporting Goods, Golf Galaxy and DICK’S House of Sport, offering members $5 simulator rentals at participating locations, a complimentary lesson with a PGA Teaching Professional at select locations and access to special in-store events for young golfers.

Upcoming Charity Golf Outings

• Junior Achievement of New Jersey will host its Fall Golf Outing on Monday, Oct. 5 at Echo Lake Country Club in Westfield. The event begins with registration and lunch at 11 a.m., followed by a 12:30 p.m. shotgun start, with proceeds supporting Junior Achievement programs for students throughout New Jersey. • Big Brothers Big Sisters of Coastal and Northern New Jersey will host the 6th Annual Big Shots Golf Classic on Monday, Oct. 5 at Fairmount Country Club. The outing supports the organization’s one-to-one youth mentoring programs. (Learn More)

• The Scholarship Fund for Inner-City Children will host its annual Golf Outing on Wednesday, Oct. 7 at Canoe Brook Country Club in Summit. Proceeds provide partial tuition scholarships for students from financially struggling families in Bergen, Essex, Hudson and Union counties. • The Who’s Your Caddie Golf Tournament will take place Monday, Oct. 19 at Weequahic Golf Course. The event will bring golfers, caddies, clubs, businesses and the community together to support organizations creating opportunity, education and access through golf. (Learn More)

• The inaugural Heartline Classic is set for Monday, Oct. 19 at Cedar Hill Golf & Country Club in Livingston. The nine-hole charity outing benefits Center for the Heart and its work supporting individuals and families navigating Alzheimer’s and dementia, caregiving, serious illness, end-of-life transitions and grief.
