Wednesday Roundup - May 21, 2025

New Jersey Golf’s “Wednesday Roundup” will run weekly through the 2025 golf season. This weekly news summary will feature local stories and news from throughout the Garden State. - Max Greyserman finished t-33 at the PGA Championship at Quail Hollow. (Click for more)
- Megha Ganne (Stanford) won in a playoff against No. 4 Florida State’s Lottie Woad on May 20 to send No. 1 Stanford to the NCAA Division I Women’s Golf Championship. The Holmdel native outlasted Woad on the 20th hole, sinking a birdie putt to close out the match. At 27-under, Stanford will play No. 3-seeded Northwestern in Carlsbad, CA for a chance to win their second-straight title. (Click for more)
- Liam Pasternak and Barnes Blake advanced to the Round of 16 in the 2025 U.S. Four-Ball Championship help at Plainfield Country Club. (Click here for more).
- The Golf Association of Philadelphia is hosting the 42nd GAP Middle-Amateur Championship presented by NJM Insurance at Riverton Country Club from May 21-22. The two-day regional event will conclude with a 36-hole round on the second day, following cuts to the lowest 48 scores and ties during the first. Several New Jersey golfers are competing. - Cassandra Hughes of Absegami shot an 85 to win the Cape Atlantic League Championship on May 19. Freshman standout Piper Cocca-McHale of Hammonton High School finished fourth overall with a 99. (Click here for more).
- For the second time in three years, Chris DeJohn (Arcola Country Club), won the Walter Travis Invitational Championship. DeJohn added some extra hardware from his previous win in 2023, beating John Hunter (Carlton Woods, TX) by a 4 & 3 margin at New Jersey’s Garden City Golf Club on May 18. (Click here for more)
- The North Hunterdon Regional High School girls’ golf team finished 19 strokes ahead of Pope John XXII Regional High School to win the shortened H/W/S Championships at Architects Golf Club in Phillipsburg on May 17. Senior Esther Choi led the field despite storms in the area minimizing play. (Click here for more)
- Tickets are on sale and volunteer registration is now open for the Shoprite LPGA Classic presented by Acer. The tournament is scheduled for June 6-8 and will take place at the Seaview Hotel and Golf Club in Galloway, NJ. As part of the “Team Shoprite” Sponsorship Program and their extended partnership with the LPGA, Shoprite will provide complimentary hotel accommodations for the entire tournament field. - Registration for all Summer New Jersey Member Golf Days are now open. (Click here for more).
- The 2025 Passaic County Amateur Championship registration form and information is available now. The two-day event will be held at the Preakness Valley East & West Courses from June 21 – June 22 and is open to all Passaic County residents and county ID holders. A Handicap Index is required to play. (Click here for more).
- Skyview Golf Club is hosting the Skyview Open on June 1, with registration closing on May 25. (Click here for more)
- Registration is open for the Hasbrouck Heights Lions Club to host their Annual Golf Outing at Meadows Golf Club in Lincoln Park, NJ on June 11. Proceeds from the event go to help the Lions’ charitable causes. (Click here for more)
