New Jersey Golf’s “Wednesday Roundup” will run weekly through the 2025 golf season. This weekly news summary will feature local stories and news from throughout the Garden State.   • 2024 New Jersey Junior Girls’ Champion, Aphrodite Deng won the U.S. Girls’ Junior Championship at the Atlantic Athletic Club on July 19 with a 2-and-1 victory over Xingtong Chen of Singapore. The win adds to a list of many in her 2025 campaign, including the Junior Invitational at Sage Valley and the Mizuhos America Open. (Click for more)
  • Rory Asselta won Individual Medalist at the PGA National High School Golf Association National Invitational at Pinehurst Resort & Country Club on July 22 with a 16-under par score (65-66-69, 200). Representing the state of New Jersey, the Saint Joseph Regional High School Green Knights Varsity Boys’ Golf Team finished T-5 in the team standings. (Click for more)
  • Following his win at the Genesis Scottish Open, Chris Gotterup, of Little Silver, N.J., placed solo third at The Open at The Royal Portrush Golf Club on July 20 with a 12-under par (72-65-68-67, 272). (Click for more)
  • Drue Nicholas, of Galloway National Golf Club won the 121st GAP Open Championship on July 17. The Egg Harbor Township native set an Open Championship record with a 12-under par score (65-67, 132). (Click for more
  • Entries are now open for multiple USGA Championships – The 38th U.S. Women's Mid-Amateur (Entries close August 6), 11th U.S. Women's Four-Ball (Entries close August 13), and the 11th U.S. Amateur Four-Ball (Entries close August 13). (Click for more)    
  • Scouting America’s Northern New Jersey Council invites you to participate in their annual Three Rivers District Classic & Dinner on Sept. 16 at White Beeches Country Club in Haworth, N.J.   • Registration for the 2025 Lenape Football Golf Outing is now open. The outing will be held in support of the non-profit Lenape Football Pride Club at Ramblewood Country Club in Mount Laurel, NJ on Aug. 15. (Click for more)
  • Shore Saves, a volunteer-run dog rescue, is hosting their 4th Annual Shore Saves Charity Golf Outing at Pebble Creek Golf Club in Colts Neck, N.J. on Aug. 18. All proceeds will go directly towards rescuing, rehabilitating and rehoming dogs in need. (Click for more)
