Wednesday Roundup - July 15, 2026

New Jersey Golf’s “Wednesday Roundup” will run weekly through the 2026 golf season. This weekly news summary will feature local stories and news from throughout the Garden State. Competitive Golf 

• At the 77th U.S. Junior Girls Championship in Durham, N.C. at Old Chatham Golf Club, took place as Jessica Kim, Sharon Kim, Angela Liang, Christine Park. Rayee Feng and Vidhi Lakhawala all compete. Lakhawala advanced to match play. The championship concludes on Saturday, July 18. (Learn More) 

• The Genesis Scottish Open concluded on Sunday, July 12, and both New Jersey players, Chris Gotterup and Max Greyserman, finished within the top 40. Gotterup, a Little Silver, NJ, native, finished T11 with a 10-under-par total and the Short Hills, NJ, native Greyserman carded a 4-under-par total to finish T36 (Learn More).  

• Greyserman and Gotterup are competing in the 154th Open Championship at Royal Birkdale Golf Club in Southport, England. Results pending (Learn More) 

• The 109th Met Junior Championship finishes on Wednesday, July 15, at the North Jersey Country Club in Wayne, N.J. Rory Asselta, Vertti Hamalainen, Jack Stamberger and Enzo Allain all advanced to the Round of 16 match play. Asselta and Hamalainen advanced to the quarterfinals. More results pending. (Learn More) 

• Ethan Lee of Eagle Oaks Golf & Country Club claimed the 2026 Arcola Cup Invitational Championship. Lee recorded an outstanding 36-hole total of 140 (-4) to secure the championship. (Learn More) 

NJ Golf Community 

• Following a $6,000,000 overhaul, the new Overpeck Golf Course opened on Wednesday, July 8. The new clubhouse includes two golf simulators and a 1,197-square-foot outdoor deck which overlooks the course. (Learn More) 

• The Heroes Tour provides competitive golf opportunities for active military personnel, veterans and first responders (firefighters, law enforcement, paramedics & EMTs). All skill levels are welcome. Tournaments feature a gross and net division. (Learn More) 

• Autism Speaks is hosting its 17th Annual Fall Classic on Monday, September 28th at Baltusrol. (Learn More) 

• The Metropolitan Golf Writers Association is hosting its 73rd National Awards Dinner on Tuesday, October 6th at the Mountain Ridge Country Club. This is the first time the dinner is being held in New Jersey since its inception in 1953. (Learn More) 

• Navesink Country Club is hosting NJ Golf’s Women’s Golf Day on Thursday, October 22nd. Registration for the event is now open and ends on October 8th. (Learn More)

• United States Golf Association (USGA) announced its 2026 U.S. National Development Program (USNDP) Grant Program athletes. In total, 124 athletes representing 32 states and ranging in age from 13-18 will receive more than $1.1 million in financial assistance. (Learn More)
