New Jersey Golf’s “Wednesday Roundup” will run weekly through the 2026 golf season. This weekly news summary will feature local stories and news from throughout the Garden State. Competitive Golf 

• Katie Li and Rayee Feng each made the Round of 64 at the 2026 U.S. Women’s Amateur Championship at The Honors Club in Ooltewah, Tennessee, from Tuesday, August 4 to August 9. (Learn More) 

• Ami Gianchandani took home the 2026 Women’s South Carolina Open with a dominant 8-under-par showing. Over three rounds of play, Gianchandani’s 205 gross total was 10 strokes better than the second-place finisher, making her the top professional and overall score. (Learn More) 

• Barnes Blake, Drue Nicholas and Dean Greyserman competed in two stroke-play rounds of the 2026 U.S. Men’s Amateur Championship from August 10 to August 11 at Merion Golf Club in Ardmore, Pennsylvania and Philadelphia Country Club in Gladwyne, Pennsylvania.  (Learn More)

• Registration for the 2026 Capital Cup at Trenton Country Club is now open. The 2026 Capital Cup will take place on Thursday, October 8th, 2026, with potential earnings surpassing $1,000. (Learn More) 

• Childhood Cancer Society is hosting its first annual Adventure Ted Tees Off golf outing on Monday, August 31st at Trump National Golf Club Colts Neck. The day will feature the wish grant reveal for Liam, an 8-year-old First Tee golfer from Edison who is battling leukemia. (Learn More) 

• The 13th Annual R.A. Schiavone Memorial Cup at Forsgate Country Club will honor the legacy of Ronald A. Schiavone by bringing together accomplished PGA Professionals and outstanding Senior Amateur competitors for two memorable days of competition on Forsgate’s historic Charles Banks-designed course. The Pro/Senior Scratch Event will take place on October 15 and 16. (Learn More) 

• Rich Poggi, a local New Jersey author, recently released a novel about former PGA Tour hopeful Doug Parker of Windsor Hills Golf Club. Fairways and Greens by Rich Poggi is a character-driven story of family, fathers and sons, strong women, rediscovery, and second chances, all set against a game that has a way of revealing the truth about people when it matters most. (Learn More) 

• The Heroes Tour provides competitive golf opportunities for active military personnel, veterans and first responders (firefighters, law enforcement, paramedics & EMTs). All skill levels are welcome. Tournaments feature a gross and net division. (Learn More) 

• Autism Speaks is hosting its 17th Annual Fall Classic on Monday, September 28th at Baltusrol Golf Club. (Learn More) 

• The Metropolitan Golf Writers Association is hosting its 73rd National Awards Dinner on Tuesday, October 6th at the Mountain Ridge Country Club. This is the first time the dinner is being held in New Jersey since its inception in 1953. (Learn More)

• United States Golf Association (USGA) announced its 2026 U.S. National Development Program (USNDP) Grant Program athletes. In total, 124 athletes representing 32 states and ranging in age from 13-18 will receive more than $1.1 million in financial assistance. (Learn More)
