Wednesday Roundup - April 15, 2026

New Jersey Golf’s “Wednesday Roundup” will run weekly through the 2026 golf season. This weekly news summary will feature local stories and news from throughout the Garden State. • Frank Esposito is competing in the Senior PGA Championship at The Concession Golf Club from April 16-19. (Click for more)

• The New Jersey Golf Foundation (NJGF), the (501c3) charitable arm of the New Jersey Section, PGA of America (NJPGA), today announced that Rumson Country Club was recognized as the 2025 NJGF Club of the Year. (Click for more) 

• Mark McCormick and Ken Pridgen won the Johnnie-O Pro-Pro Championship at Galloway National GC. (Click for more)

• Lily Patel of Westfield High School won her fourth Union County Tournament title, shooting a 7-over par 79 at Suburban. (Click for more) 

• Morgan Tyhanic shot a 74 to claim medalist honors and lead Pinelands to a two-stroke victory over Southern at the Ocean County Tournament in Bey Lea Golf Course in Toms River. (Click for more) 

• Samson Landers, who finished in a two-way tie for second last year, shot an 1-under 71 to win by two strokes over defending champion and Holmdel senior Ryan Quigley (73) to win individual medalist honors at the 32nd annual Monmouth County Tournament (MCT) at Charleston Springs Golf Course (North) in Millstone Township. • Sophomore Rayhao Feng fired a 3-under 69 to win by three strokes over three others to power Pingry, No. 6 in the latest NJ.com Top 20 rankings, to a four-stroke victory over top-ranked Delbarton in the Red Devil Invitational Friday at Heron Glen Golf Course in Ringoes. (Click for more) 

• Newark Academy junior Kieran O’Keefe shot an even-par 71 Monday to lead the Minutemen to a title sweep at the third annual Mountain Ridge Invitational at Mountain Ridge CC in West Caldwell. (Click for more) 

• The We've Got Friends annual golf outing is July 13 at Glen Ridge Country Club. WGF is a New Jersey-based organization that creates safe and inclusive spaces for young people (ages 7-22) with intellectual and developmental disabilities to form meaningful connections with their peers. WGF hosts "hangouts" and special events where young people can make friends, share their unique talents and abilities, strengthen their sense of belonging, and gain self-confidence along the way. • The Knights of Columbus, Council 6930, will hold their 22nd Annual Charity Golf Event on Friday, May 8, 2026. This year’s Foursome Scramble will be held at High Bridge Hills Golf Club. The day includes 18 holes of golf, a golf cart, breakfast, lunch, and refreshments. 100% of the proceeds support local charities. (Click for more) 

• Support local youth and bid on incredible golf experiences! First Tee – Jersey Shore’s annual Swing Into Spring Online Auction will feature a diverse selection of golf packages, including foursomes, threesomes, lesson packages, and more, all to benefit local kids and families. 100% of proceeds directly support First Tee participants, helping build confidence, character, and life skills through the game of golf—empowering and Building Game Changers in our community. • The Western Golf Association/ Evans Scholars Foundation is hiring for a Caddie Program Manager at Weequahic & Francis Byrne Golf Courses. (Learn More) 

• Holmdel native Megha Ganne will be competing in the Augusta National Women’s Amateur (ANWA) from April 1-4. (Click for more) 

• The Heroes Tour provides competitive golf opportunities for active military personnel, veterans and first responders (firefighters, law enforcement, paramedics & EMTs). All skill levels are welcome. Tournaments feature a gross and net division. (Click for more) 

• On Monday, May 4, 2026, CiC will host its signature golf outing, “May the ‘Fore’th Be With You!”, at Hamilton Farm Golf Club. Proceeds from the event directly support CiC’s work, including providing young people with a safe, substance-free drop-in center where they can connect, grow, and thrive. Funds also ensure that adolescents and adults in recovery can access programs, events, and workshops that help them reconnect with their community, find hope, employment, and purpose. All CiC programs are offered free of charge, so everyone feels welcome regardless of their ability to pay. (Click for more) 

• The Endorphin Golf Outing & Dinner for Brain Health is set to take place on June 1 at Panther Valley Country Club. All proceeds go to the IES Brain Research Foundation Summer Fellowship Program in Neuroscience. The goal of the program is to attract bright, motivated students to the field of neuroscience, in hopes that they will add to the work of the senior scientists towards treatment and cures for brain diseases and conditions, such as:  Alzheimer's, Parkinson's, autism, ALS, epilepsy, pain, addiction, brain cancer, stroke, MS, etc. (Click for more)
