Semifinals Set for 104th W.Y. Dear Junior Championship

ESSEX FELLS, N.J. – Ryan Klarreich, Henry Bolster, Michael Clifford-Levy and Harry Cohen have all advanced to the semifinals of the 104th W.Y. Dear Junior Championship at Essex Fells Country Club following two rounds of match play on Tuesday.
Klarreich, 17, shot a 1-under par, 69 in the stroke play portion of the championship on Monday to earn medalist honors. In his Tuesday morning round of 16 match, Klarreich defeated Eric Kim in 19 holes following a clutch eagle on the par-5, 16th to tie the match. In the afternoon, Klarreich took down Anders Farley 6 and 5 to advance to the semifinals on Wednesday.
Bolster, 18, won his round of 16 match against Isaac Rosenberg 7 and 5, which was highlighted by victories on holes 7, 8 and 9 to make the turn at 5-up. In the quarterfinals, Bolster defeated Walter Gumbinger, 5 and 3. Gallagher once again made a run around the turn, winning holes 8, 9, 10 and 11 enroute to victory.
Clifford-Levy, 17, defeated Brayden Tritsch in the round of 16, 4 and 3 and then Arjun Caprihan 3 and 2 in the afternoon quarterfinals. Clifford-Levy got off to a hot start in his afternoon match winning three of the first four holes.
Cohen, 18, fired a 1-under par 69 in the stroke play portion to share medalist honors with Klarreich. Cohen defeated Andrew Ma in the round of 16 4 and 3. Cohen then defeated a quarterfinalist from last year, Vertti Hamalainen, 3 and 2.
