Qualifying: 43rd New Jersey Mid-Amateur Championship
KENILWORTH, N.J. - The New Jersey Golf championship season continues with the 43rd New Jersey Mid-Amateur Championship on the horizon, set to be contested at Alpine Country Club, one of the state’s most storied and challenging private venues.
The championship proper will take place June 2-4, where the region’s top mid-amateurs aged 25 and older will compete for one of New Jersey Golf’s most prestigious titles. Known for its demanding layout, elevation changes, and pristine conditioning, Alpine provides a fitting stage for a championship that consistently showcases some of the state’s most accomplished amateur players.
Qualifying rounds for the 43rd New Jersey Mid-Amateur Championship will be conducted in the weeks leading up to the event, as players look to earn their place in a competitive field.

In the first qualifier for the 43rd Mid-Amateur Championship, 11 individuals advanced after an 18 hole qualifying round at Rockland Country Club. Stephen Welkie of Fiddlers Elbow Country Club earned medalist honors, firing a two-under par, 68, to top the leaderboard. Following closely behind Welkie at one-under par, 69, was Davis Weil of The Ridgewood Country Club and Williams Robbins of Somerset Hill Country Club. Those advancing shot a five-over par, 75, or better.
