Qualifying: 125th New Jersey Amateur Championship Presented by Provident Bank
KENILWORTH, N.J. –– The 125th Amateur Championship presented by Provident Bank will be return to the historic Baltusrol Golf Club for the first time since 2012, with competition set to play on its renowned Upper and Lower Courses. Ranked among the top-5 golf courses in New Jersey in Golf Digest’s 2025-26 “Best in State” rankings, both courses are sure to make for an exciting three days of competition showcasing the best amateurs in the state. The champion of the event will earn an exemption to play in the 126th U.S. Amateur Championship at Merion Golf Club in Ardmore, PA. from August 10-16.
Qualifying for the 125th Amateur Championship will take place at nine sites throughout May and June.
Thursday, May 28, Rossmoor Golf Course
In the first qualifier for the 125th Amateur Championship, seven individuals advanced after an 18-hole qualifying round at Rossmoor Golf Course in Monroe Township. Competitors who finished at even-par 71 or better advanced to the 125th Amateur Championship, while Adam Fuchs of Echo Lake Country Club and Max Alverio of the NJ Golf E-Club earned medalist honors, shooting 2-under par 69.
Monday, June 1, Montammy Golf Club
The second qualifier for the 125th Amateur Championship was held at Montammy Golf Club in Alpine, where ten players earned their spots in the championship field. A score of 4-over par, 76, or better was required to advance, with Peter Tasca of Knickerbocker Country Club claiming medalist honors after carding an even-par 72.
Thursday, June 4, Knoll Country Club
In the third qualifier for the 125th Amateur Championship, seven players with a score of 1-over-par 71 or better advanced to the championship during a qualifying round at Knoll Country Club. Tucker Sandercock of the NJ Golf E-Club and John Browndorf of Deal Golf & Country Club shared medalist honors after firing a score of 1-under-par 69 at Knoll, which played 6,574 yards on Thursday afternoon.
Monday, June 8, Peddie Golf Club
During the fourth qualifier for the 125th Amateur Championship, nine players secured a championship spot at Peddie Golf Club’s 6278-yard course. A score of 1-under par, 71 or better was needed to advance. Vertti Hamalainen of the Montclair Golf Club earned medalist honors with a 3-under par, 69.
Tuesday, June 9, Old Bridge Golf Club
The fifth qualifier for the 125th Amateur Championship was held at Old Bridge Golf Club in Matawan, where five players earned their spots in the championship field. A score of even-par 71 or better was required to advance from the 6,290-yard test, with Gavin Krietz of Hamilton Farm Golf Club claiming medalist honors after firing a 3-under par 68.
Thursday, June 11, Metuchen Golf & Country Club
Cody Cox of Black Oak Golf Club and Arjun Caprihan of Spring Brook Country Club shared medalist honors on Thursday afternoon with a score of 2-under par 70 to advance to the 125th Amateur Championship. During the sixth qualifier, nine players earned their spot in the championship field with a score of 3-over par 75 or better at Metuchen Golf & Country Club.
Saturday, June 13, Quail Brook Golf Course
Quail Brook Golf Course served as the site of the seventh qualifier for the 125th Amateur Championship, where five players secured their places in the championship field. A score of 3-under par, 69, or better was required to advance, with Tyler Stahle of The Legacy Club, Jackson Lane of Riverton Country Club, Axel Brandes of NJ HS Golf (E-Club), and Peter Van Deventer of Navesink Country Club sharing medalist honors after each posted rounds of 4-under par, 68.
