Parikh Captures 56th Boys Championship at Fiddler's Elbow
BEDMINSTER, N.J. –– Neil Parikh, 15, of the NJ Golf E-Club captured the 56th Boys Championship at Fiddler's Elbow Country Club on Tuesday afternoon. Battling rainy conditions throughout the day, Parikh carded an even-par 72 on the River Course to claim the title.
Parikh set the tone early, posting a 2-under par 34 on the front nine to move into contention. He relied on a steady all-around game and a strong performance on the greens to navigate the challenging weather conditions and maintain his position atop the leaderboard.
"Honestly the rain wasn't too bad I got a little lucky that I played earlier in the morning," said Parikh. "I think my putting was good, I didn't have any three putts which helped save my round."
The victory capped off a composed round in which Parikh leaned on his familiarity with the course and trusted his game plan from the opening tee shot.
"I didn't really think about what I was hitting off the tee and I knew the greens really well so that helped a ton," said Parikh.
In addition to winning the Boys Championship, Parikh also earned a place in match play for the simultaneous 105th W.Y. Dear Junior Championship.
