NJ Golf Opens Applications for 2026 P.J. Boatwright Internships
KENILWORTH, N.J. – New Jersey Golf has officially opened applications for its 2026 P.J. Boatwright Internships, offering an invaluable pathway for aspiring golf administrators to gain hands-on experience within one of the most active golf associations in the region. These paid internships focus on key areas of the organization—Communications, Tournaments & Operations, and Membership & Foundation—and run for either three or six months, depending on the position.
Established in 1991, the USGA’s P.J. Boatwright Jr. Internship Program provides emerging professionals with meaningful exposure to the inner workings of golf administration. For more than three decades, the program has helped shape the next generation of leaders while supporting state and regional golf associations in the promotion and growth of amateur golf.
At New Jersey Golf, interns play a vital role in day-to-day operations. Depending on the assignment, interns may help conduct championships, support member services, create communications content, and assist with foundation programming. Across all roles, interns gain firsthand experience in tournament preparation, on-site administration, and post-event operations, developing critical skills in problem-solving, communication, and teamwork. Long days and fast-paced environments test every intern’s initiative and adaptability—qualities essential for a successful career in golf administration.
Prospective interns should demonstrate strong organizational and leadership potential, a collaborative mindset, and a genuine interest in the game. Each intern receives structured onboarding, ongoing training, and mentorship from New Jersey Golf’s professional staff.
Applications close January 1, 2026, or until positions are filled. All candidates must apply through the USGA Dayforce portal.
