NJ Golf Completes Fifth 100 Hole Hike
MADISON, N.J. — From sunrise to sunset, Team NJ Golf took on 100 holes for a cause on Monday at Madison Golf Club, completing its fifth annual 100 Hole Hike in support of Youth on Course.
Beginning at 6:30 a.m. and finishing at 6:30 p.m., NJ Golf staff member Rich Kennedy and former NJ Golf Presidents Eric Houseknecht and Jeff Liebler spent 12 hours on the course as they worked their way through 100 holes of golf.
The annual challenge raises funds for Youth on Course, a national nonprofit that provides young golfers with affordable access to the game. Funds raised through NJ Golf’s 100 Hole Hike help subsidize green fees at more than 30 partner courses throughout New Jersey, allowing junior golfers to play nine or 18 holes for just $5.
While the 100 holes are complete, the fundraising effort continues. Donations to Team NJ Golf are still open, with all proceeds supporting Youth on Course and helping provide affordable access to golf for junior golfers throughout New Jersey.
Over the course of the 12-hour challenge, Kennedy, Houseknecht and Liebler trekked over 20 miles.
Since NJ Golf first participated in the 100 Hole Hike, the event has become an annual opportunity to combine a full day of golf with a larger purpose — helping make the game more accessible for the next generation of golfers across New Jersey.
