More girls and women are playing golf now more than ever. According to the National Golf Foundation, the number of girls participating in golf has tripled over the past two decades. Women and girls accounted for 37% of those who played on a golf course for the first time in 2021, highlighting a growing interest among newcomers.

Since 1987, National Girls and Women in Sports Day has been a day to recognize and increasing athletic opportunities for girls and women in sports, as well as advancing the struggle for equality on the playing fields.

The evening featured swing tips from Melissa Dziabo, an instructor at Baltusrol Golf Club and one of Golf Digest’s top 20 Best Teachers in New Jersey for 2024-25. High school girls from around the state received tips and expertise from Dziabo.

Along with giveaways, each female attendee under the age of 18 also recieved a complimentary NJ Golf membership. To wrap up the evening, several prizes were awarded to the winners of the closest to the pin, longest drive, and putting contests.
