Jun Claims Top Seed in 71st Junior Girls’ Championship

UNION, N.J. - Inha Jun, a recent graduate of the Academy of the Holy Angels, carded the only under-par round of the day—a 1-under 70—to earn medalist honors at the 71st Junior Girls’ Championship.

“I hit the ball really well off the tee,” Jun said after her round. “I think it’s really important to hit the fairway here, but most importantly, I dropped a couple of mid-length putts. That’s what kept me going.”

Braving scorching temperatures, Jun rolled in four birdies to secure the top seed heading into match play. She’ll face Athena Lin in the quarterfinals Wednesday morning.

“Tomorrow I’ll look to keep the same approach,” she added. “If I can hit it well off the tee, give myself good looks with my second shots, and make some putts, I should be in a good spot.”

The champion of this week’s event will earn an exemption into the 2025 U.S. Girls’ Junior Championship at Atlanta Athletic Club.
