Jersey Duo Shines on Golf’s Longest Day, Earn U.S. Open Berths

KENILWORTH. N.J. - Ryan McCormick and Chris Gotterup emerged victorious from Golf’s Longest Day, securing their spots in the 125th U.S. Open Championship. McCormick earned medalist honors at the Maryland qualifier with a dominant 10-under performance, shooting matching rounds of 66 to finish five strokes clear of the field. Gotterup advanced out of the New Jersey qualifier at Canoe Brook Country Club, carding a strong 6-under 71-65 to clinch his place in the national championship, set for June 12–15 at Oakmont Country Club.
The two New Jersey products will join fellow Garden State golfer Max Greyserman at the storied championship.
McCormick is set to make his U.S. Open debut, while Gotterup returns for his second appearance after qualifying in 2022.
