Garden State Trio Makes the Cut at the U.S. Open

OAKMONT, Pa. - New Jersey natives Chris Gotterup, Max Greyserman, and Ryan McCormick have all made the cut and will play the weekend at the 125th U.S. Open Championship at Oakmont Country Club.
Max Greyserman, 30, made one of the biggest climbs up the leaderboard on Friday, firing a second-round 67 to vault from a tie for 98th to 12th before play was suspended—matching Jason Day for the day’s biggest move. The four-time New Jersey Golf Champion rebounded strongly after an opening-round 76 and will tee off with Adam Schenk at 2:24 p.m. on Saturday.
Chris Gotterup, the 2019 New Jersey Open Champion, also made a significant move in round two. Competing in his second U.S. Open, the 25-year-old carded a 1-under 69 to climb the leaderboard. He’ll play alongside Johnny Keefer in Saturday’s third round, teeing off at 11:29 a.m.
In his U.S. Open debut, Ryan McCormick opened with a steady even-par 70 on Thursday. Despite a tougher outing on Friday, the 2012 New Jersey Amateur Champion did just enough to make the cut by a single stroke. He’ll tee it up alongside Patrick Reed at 10:07 a.m. on Saturday.
