GAP Tops NJ Golf in Tight 63rd Compher Cup Battle

DEAL, N.J. - New Jersey Golf came up short against the Golf Association of Philadelphia by a 10-8 score in the 63rd Compher Cup at Hollywood Golf Club.
NJ Golf and GAP split the Four-Ball matches, while GAP took the edge in the singles matches. Troy Vannucci, Anthony Campanile, Chris DeJohn and Eric LeFante won their singles matches.
The Compher Cup was held for the first time in 1962 and is named for former NJSGA president, Frederic Compher, who donated the championship cup and conceived the idea of an interdistrict match with GAP to foster camaraderie and friendly competition between the associations. It has been held every year since, except for 2020 due to the pandemic (COVID-19).
With their victory, GAP improved their Compher Cup record to 42-15-5.
