Lu, of Edison will make her first appearance in the U.S. Women’s Amateur Championship.

"I'm pretty excited just because this is my first time qualifying," Lu expressed. "I'm going to be a grad student in college, so it's been a while, but I've had a lot of close calls. To finally be able to qualify this time, it feels very rewarding.”

Shao, of Green Brook, N.J., will make her second start in the championship. The winner of the 100th New Jersey Women’s Amateur Championship earned an exemption into the 2025 U.S. Women’s Amateur and now returns to the championship through qualifying.

“My mom and I had a lot of fun out there, and I honestly just really didn't have any expectations, and was excited to see how my game was going to fit the course, just because I haven't played in a while,” explained Shao. “I was just trying to make myself comfortable on the course, and then hopefully my game performed.”

Knaub, of DeBary, Fla., and Takai, of Honolulu, Hawaii, each recorded just one bogey during their rounds en route to co-medalist honors and trips to Tennessee.

Claire Lu (Edison, N.J.) was named the first alternate, while Kaprice Park (Canada) earned second alternate spot.

The 126th U.S. Women’s Amateur Championship will be contested Aug. 4-9 at The Honors Course in Ooltewah, Tenn.
