Former Champion Granahan Medalist in 12th Women’s Mid-Amateur Championship

UNION, N.J. - Kate Granahan, a two-time (2021, 2023) New Jersey Women’s Mid-Amateur Champion, shot a 3-over par 74 en route to medalist honors at the 12th Women’s Mid-Amateur Championship.
Granahan, 31, rolled in a birdie on her final hole to best the Mid-Am field by three strokes.
"I played pretty consistent golf, hit quite a few greens, quite a few fairways,” Granahan commented. “The course is pretty straightforward, so I’ll hopefully make some more putts tomorrow.”
In its first year of a different format, which consists of 18 holes of stroke play qualifying and match play, Granahan will take on Aidong Ma in the quarterfinals on Wednesday morning.
“I love match play,” Granahan added. “I'm excited. It prepares you for other tournaments too. The Women’s Amateur is this format and the U.S. Women’s Mid-Am is this way too. I’m all for it, and I’m excited to play.”
Defending Women's Mid-Amateur Champion Christina Parsells turned in a 6-over par 77 to claim the second spot in match play.
