Dennis Walters Returns to New Jersey for Pair of Member Golf Day Performances

KENILWORTH, N.J. –– New Jersey Golf will host the famed Dennis Walters Golf Show at two upcoming Member Golf Days in August – first, on August 4 at Newton Country Club and on August 11 at Madison Golf Club. Both shows are open to the public.

Walters, a native of Neptune, N.J., is one of golf’s best-known celebrities. A member of the World Golf Hall of Fame and New Jersey Golf Hall of Fame, Walters was paralyzed from the waist down in a 1973 golf cart accident. His remarkable story of inspiration and persistence is told through his personal mission to teach golf and life lessons through his popular Dennis Walters Golf Show. The show, which is approximately 30 minutes in duration, consists of trick shots - done by Walters - from a specially outfitted golf cart. He is accompanied by his rescue dog, Gussie, who claps after a successful golf shot and retrieves golf balls.

During the show, Walters tells his story and encourages others to reach for their dreams, strive for excellence and do something they didn't think they could. He uses his own personal experience as an example to challenge each person to do something in their life that they thought might be impossible – and with hard work, dedication, and perseverance, anything can be achieved.

Inducted in 2019 to both the World Golf Hall of Fame and the NJSGA Hall of Fame, Walters has traveled more than 3.5 million miles to all 50 states, Mexico, Canada and the U.K., where he has amazed audiences at over 3,000 performances. He is accompanied at each show by one of his canine rescue pals and typically amasses 90-100 shows per year.

Space remains to play in both the Member Golf Day at Newton Country Club on August 4, as well as the Women’s Golf Day at Madison Golf Club on August 11.
