David Reasoner Named Recipient of 2026 Distinguished Service Award

KENILWORTH, N.J. — New Jersey Golf and The New Jersey Section of the PGA of America are proud to announce David Reasoner as the recipient of the 2026 Distinguished Service Award, recognizing his decades of leadership, mentorship, and service to the golf industry and PGA Professionals.

Reasoner, the longtime Head Golf Professional at The Ridgewood Country Club, has established himself as a respected leader at both the Section and national levels. His accomplishments include receiving the 2019 PGA of America Bill Strausbaugh Award, which honors outstanding mentorship and leadership in the development of fellow PGA Professionals. He has also served as President of the New Jersey PGA and on the PGA of America Board of Directors as District 2 Director, a term that concludes at the 110th Annual Meeting of the PGA of America on November 5th, 2026.

Throughout his career, Reasoner has demonstrated a commitment to advancing the profession and supporting the next generation of golf industry leaders. His dedication to mentorship and service has extended beyond his professional responsibilities through the founding of Golf Gives, a charitable organization that supports PGA of America Golf Professionals in need.

"The Distinguished Service Award was created in 2004 to recognize an individual who has made significant contributions to the game of golf in New Jersey and this year's recipient, David Reasoner,  has not only done so on the local level but has had a positive impact on the industry and fellow PGA Professionals around the country," said New Jersey PGA Executive Director, Chris Bauer.

The Distinguished Service Award, a collaboration between the New Jersey PGA and New Jersey Golf, is presented annually to an individual who has contributed exemplary service and contributions to golf in New Jersey, consistent with the honor, values, and traditions of the game

Through his leadership, mentorship, and charitable efforts, Reasoner has made a lasting contribution to the New Jersey golf community and the PGA of America. The New Jersey PGA and New Jersey Golf congratulate him on receiving the 2026 Distinguished Service Award and thank him for his continued service to the profession.
